Kerala: 5 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Palakkad; curfew imposed till May 31

Palakkad: Minister A K Balan today said that 5 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Palakkad district taking the tally to 53 in the district. Out of the 5 new cases, 4 people came from other states while one arrived from abroad.

The Minister said that the possibility of community transmission has increased. People under quarantine period have violated the guidelines. Arrival of people from other states is creating worries and anxiety, he said.

Owing to the increase in the coronavirus cases in Palakkad district, curfew has been imposed starting from this day till May 31. There are 8 hotspots in the district.

The district administration has seriously taken into consideration of three healthcare workers who have been infected with the disease.
