Kerala: After Ernakulam, strict restrictions imposed in Aluva market

Aluva: Strict restrictions have been enforced in Aluva market after number of people gathering increased. The vendors protested against the establishment of police barricades, but later negotiated and settled matters.

Following the closure of Ernakulam market after a vendor was tested positive for coronavirus, the rush in the Aluva market had increased. As the retailers relied on the Aluva market to buy goods, the congestion increased. Minister VS Sunil Kumar had held talks with traders and municipality officials in the last few days to regulate the market due to over crowding.

Some of those vendors in Aluva who had come in contact with the infected vendor in Ernakulam have been traced and shut their shops.
