Nirbhaya case: SC dismisses curative pleas of convicts

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the curative petition of the convicts entitled to be hanged in the 2012 Nirbhaya gang-rape case.

A five-judge Bench of Justices NV Ramana, Arun Mishra, RF Nariman, R Banumathi and Ashol Bhushan heard the petition filed by Vinay Sharma and Mukesh Singh.

Both convicts had moved a curative petition after Delhi court issued death warrant in their names. The hanging of the convicts will be executed on January 22.

The other two convicts Pawan and Akshay will also be hanged on the same day at 7 am in Delhi’s Tihar Jail.
