“No state can take manpower from UP without our permission,” says CM Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that the state government has brought back 23 lakh migrant labourers and will provide social security and insurance to labourers and no state can take manpower from Uttar Praesh without UP government’s permission.

“If any state wants manpower, they cannot take our people from the state without our permission as there were reports of misbehavior with them in other states. We are taking full responsibility for labourers’ social security. We will provide every kind of security to them including insurance. Wherever they will go, we will always stand by them,” Yogi said.

Yogi said that his government had ordered the formation of a ‘migration Commission’ for the purpose of providing the workers, who have returned to the sttae during the lockdown phase, with employment suited to their skills.

“A framework is being chalked out to set up a migration commission to employ the laborers who came back home. We are committed to guarantee social security by providing employment to these workers in the state itself,” read his tweet.

The Yogi government has also ordered all workers to be sent to home quarantine for 14 days, after they are provided with rations and Rs 1,000 in cash and conduct skill mapping so that they can be accommodated in different sectors.

“Arrangements are being made to provide benefits of insurance at the state level to the migrant workers. Also, such an action plan is also being prepared, so that job security of these people can be ensured in the state itself and they do not have to be forced to flee away from their families in search of jobs,” he tweeted.
