SFI district secretary held for violating lockdown instructions

Thiruvananthapuram: Thiruvananthapuram District SFI Secretary Riyaz Wahab has been arrested by the police after he came out with his bike, violating the directions of lockdown.

In addition to this, he has alo been charged for talking over the mobile phone while driving.

A total of 1751 people have been charged on Wednesday across the state for violation of regulations under lockdown period.

With this the total number of cases taken up on Tuesday and Wednesday has reached 3612. The highest number of cases were registered in Kozhikode city – 338 cases, 214 cases were reported in Idukki and 208 in Kottayam. Kasaragod lacks behind with only 10 cases.

The police will take strict action against those who are seen loitering around unnecessarily when the nation is following a complete lockdown of 21 days.
