Turning point in Neyyattinkara case; suicide note reveals grave domestic violence

Thiruvananthapuram: A note written by Lekha, who committed suicide with her nineteen year old daughter last day reveals a crucial turning point in the case. The suicide note clearly mentioned about the domestic violence they had faced and blames Lekha’s husband and relatives are responsible for the suicide. Lekha’s husband Chandran and his relatives are the reason behind the delay in bank repayment, they had refused to sell the property and Lekha was frequently tortured for dowry- the suicide note goes on like this.The forensic department found the note pasted on the room’s wall where Lekha and Vaishnavi committed suicide. Chandran and his relatives are taken under custody.

Both Lekha and her daughter committed suicide around 3 pm last day, by setting themselves on fire. Vaishnavi died on the spot and Lekha with 90% burns, died in the hospital.
